1. INTRINSIC SECURITY
"Intrinsic Security", or security from within, is vital, and arguably the most important part of this list. When you love yourself, you're able to be yourself, and you become attractive to people who love themselves as well, regardless of your situation. Iron out the inside before putting too much attention on the outside.
2. WANTING IT BAD ENOUGH
No matter what you're doing, you're going to be alone for a good leg of the ride at one point or another. And while the high points are great, the lows can be equally as low. This ties in with intrinsic security, but ask yourself if you really want it bad enough... Bad enough to the point that you could handle jumping into the unknown not only without help, but with resistance on top of it, and keep moving forward. This WILL happen at some point. People who have awesome lives have all been through this. They don't give in.
We're all designed to conceive ideas and turn them into reality. We're bombarded on a daily basis with countless ideas created by other people, but how much of our lives are reciting published ideas vs expressing our own? Find something YOU love and DO it. I used to identify with things other people loved, rather than what I loved, and boy is that an empty feeling. Put everyone else aside and ask yourself, how much of what I like is actually what I like?
4. DON'T FALL BACK ON ANYTHING
"I'm keeping my options open" <- Usually rooted in insecurity. I know what I'm built for, and anything other than that isn't an option, and compromise is an alluring rut to fall into. If I want it bad enough, it will happen. End of story.
